The Cakung Lama River in Cilincing Sub-district, North Jakarta is cleaned from mud and garbage, Friday (3/31).

Adrian, Section Head of Easter Basin Maintenance for Jakarta Water Resources Dept. said cleaning has been ongoing since two weeks.
"Cakung Lama is cleaned up to 400 meters length which aims to deepen the river up to 1 meter. We send two excavators to the field," he expressed, Friday (3/31).
Cakung Lama River Full of Flood TrashThis time, the river's trace is experiencing narrowing. It is because the local people occupy the river basin area (DAS) and its riverbank.
He continued the trace only has one up to five meters width, but it should be 20 meters. To refunction it, it will be widened up to eight meters.
"By doing so, it is hoped able to minimize inundation and flood in future," he finished.
